VALMA PV-S-A series electromagnetic pneumatic pilot valves are designed to control rotary pneumatic actuators, pneumatic cylinders or other double-acting pneumatic actuators (without return springs). These pneumatic valves are pneumatic control valves of the spool type. Unlike direct-acting valves, spool-type valves have significantly higher throughput while maintaining low energy consumption. This allows the use of the PIV-S-A series valves to control large pneumatic cylinders or in cases where high actuation speeds are required.
For applications requiring the installation of a distribution valve directly on pneumatic actuators that support the NAMUR standard (for example, pneumatic actuators of the PNA-DA series), it is recommended to use VALMA pneumatic valves with the NAMUR PIV-N series interface.
