VALMA pneumatic-controlled pilot valves of the PIV-S-CP series are designed to control rotary pneumatic actuators, pneumatic cylinders or other pneumatic actuators. These pneumatic valves are pneumatic control valves of the spool type with pneumatic control. This means that the movement of the spool is carried out by compressed air, and the valve itself does not have a coil and, therefore, does not require power supply.
Valves with pneumatic control are usually used in small pneumatic systems that operate without connecting to the power grid, or for installation in areas that do not allow cable lines to be laid.
The PIV-S-CP control valves are bistable. This means that in order to switch the valve from one state to another, compressed air must be supplied to one of the pneumatic control ports. After the air is discharged from this port, the valve will remain in this state. To return the valve to its original state, compressed air must be supplied to another pneumatic control port.
The pneumatic function 5/2 allows these valves to be used to control the most common double-acting pneumatic cylinders (without return springs)
. The PIV-S—CP control valves are bistable - they retain their current state after the compressed air pressure is released from the pneumatic control port, which allows them to be used in pulse control systems.
The valve model and main technical characteristics are marked on the body by laser engraving, which ensures easy reading of information even many years after commissioning.
