VALMA valves of the ASV series are single-acting pneumatic seat valves. Most of the valves in the series are normally closed (NC). This means that the valve is closed in its initial state (see Figure 1) and does not allow the working medium (water, air, steam, etc.) to open the valve, compressed air must be supplied to the valve's pneumatic actuator. This causes the piston to move along with the rod and disc attached to it. As a result, the valve opens and passes the working medium from the inlet to the outlet (see Figure 2). To return to the initial state, it is enough to vent the air from the pneumatic actuator into the atmosphere.
The valve materials (body – stainless steel AISI 316, seals – PTFE) allow to work with most working environments. Pneumatic operated shut-off seat valves are more durable and resistant to controlling the flow of dirty media and steam compared to solenoid valves. Therefore, the VALMA ASV series 2/2-way angle seat valves are used where it is difficult to use solenoid valves, as well as in harsh operating conditions.
Pneumatic seat valves of the ASV series are a type of pipe fittings for general industrial purposes and are used in various industries. The angle valves are designed to handle liquids, gases and steam with temperatures up to 184 °C and pressures up to 16 bar.
