VALMA ASV series valves are single-acting pneumatically actuated seat valves. Most of the valves in the series are normally closed (NC). This means that in the initial state (see Figure 1), the valve is closed and does not allow the working medium (water, air, steam, etc.) to pass through. To open the valve, compressed air must be supplied to the valve pneumatic actuator. This causes the piston to move together with the stem and disk attached to it. As a result, the valve opens and allows the working medium to pass from the inlet to the outlet (see Figure 2). To return to the initial state, it is sufficient to release air from the pneumatic actuator into the atmosphere.
The valve materials (body - stainless steel AISI 316, seals - PTFE) allow working with most working media. Pneumatically actuated shut-off seat valves are more durable and resistant to controlling dirty media and steam flows compared to electromagnetic valves. Therefore, 2/2-way angle seat valves with pneumatic actuator VALMA ASV series are used where it is difficult to use electromagnetic valves, as well as in difficult operating conditions.
Seat valves with pneumatic actuator ASV series belong to the type of pipeline valves for general industrial purposes and are used in various industries. Angle valves are designed to work with liquids, gases and steam with temperatures up to 184°C and pressure up to 16 bar.
