VALMA's electromagnetic pneumatic pilot valves of the PIV-S-C series are designed to control rotary pneumatic actuators, pneumatic cylinders or other double-acting pneumatic actuators (without return springs). These pneumatic valves are pneumatic control valves of the spool type. Unlike direct-acting valves, spool-type valves have significantly higher throughput while maintaining low energy consumption. This allows the use of the PIV-S-C series valves to control large pneumatic cylinders or in cases where high actuation speeds are required.
The PIV-S-C control valves are bistable. This means that in order to switch the valve from one state to another, voltage must be applied to one of the coils. After removing the voltage from this coil, the valve will remain in this state. To return the valve to its original state, voltage must be applied to another coil. Such valves are used in pulse control systems, as well as in tasks requiring particularly low power consumption of equipment to increase energy efficiency and increase battery life.
