Propolis (or bee glue) is a resinous substance that is collected by bees from birch buds, plants of various species, and is used for sealing cracks in the hive, polishing the honeycomb cells, thereby ensuring the sterility of the hive.
It is usually dark green and bitter in taste. If you put a piece of high-quality propolis in your mouth, it will cause a burning sensation. Beekeepers prepare propolis in the summer, scraping it from the frames and canvases.
