Liquid vaporizers for gasification of liquefied air separation products (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide) are used with a liquid coolant (water, tosol cooling fluid) and usually included in cryogenic gasification systems and cylinder filling plants.
A vaporizer is intended for changing the state of matter of gas, transferring it from the liquid state into the gaseous state under high pressure, and heating it to the required temperature, when supplying it to the process line of the consumer or for filling cylinders and other recipients. Gasification of a cryo product takes place while passing through a spirally wound tube of a coil installed in a liquid-containing vessel. The liquid is heated by tubular electric heating elements (tubular heaters) installed on the side cover of the vessel. Tubular heaters are divided into several functional sections (most often, three sections).
The power consumption of the liquid vaporizer depends on the necessary gas temperature at the vaporizer outlet and on its power.
To protect the heat exchanger from exceeding the necessary pressure and temperature parameters, the vaporizer design includes a pressure safety valve, an electric contact pressure gauge (ECPG), an outlet gas temperature sensor, and a water temperature sensor. In case when the necessary pressure is reached in the consumer’s system, the ECPG will stop the pump operation and gas release. And the turn-on condition of tubular heaters is monitored with the vaporizer water temperature sensor.
